Yearning for Magic; Yarning about Maison Fish Retreats
How did it feel to be a Maison Fish?
For me, it was calming, liberating and empowering.
After journeying to a remote corner of the country, a feeling that you've touched upon sacred space may come naturally to you. But when you throw some fellow Sacred Space Seekers into that mix, it's like turning up the volume tenfold; it becomes a safe haven...
The emotional connection we have to loved ones carries with it a sense of responsibilty, and sometimes in our bids of protecting that, we can feel like we're drowning, unable to spread our fins. You cannot reveal that thing that's been niggling on your mind to a friend, to a partner, or to a parent for fear of judgement. They have a deep investment in you, an investment that strangers do not. Yet how can you open yourself to a stranger if you aren't sure that they are open to your sharing? Well, Maison Fish will blow that uncertainty out the water entirely.
Not wanting to unveil too much mystery for you, I will say that within the fish bowl there is inclusivity through 'Anonymous Identity' activities. But flip not, you will only dive as deep as you desire to go; it's mostly about acknowledging and experiencing the gifts of giving and receiving. And this, combined with working through the physical elements of Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Space metaphorically, can develop your sense of Self literally. Time spent in nature over the weekend will only enhance that process; from countryside walks, to surfing, to early morning aweing at valley views that will simply take your breath away. Yet ironically, these are moments to really breathe, to honour your mere existence.
Magic isn't the mythical, untouchable concept we've always been deceived into believing; it is in the every day things that it exists. Readily available for all because it is different for all. This retreat is time to connect with what it is that sparks those flames within you, and create a memory of it so it exists any time/ any place/ any where you wish upon it to. Someone once said that ''if you want to go somewhere you like but no one else wants to go, go by yourself. You'll meet people with similar interests as you''.
- Perhaps by plunging into such, you might feel like a fish out of water. But the divine paradox about deep water is the unknown. You never know what you might discover there...
